It’s impossible to talk about great all-American automakers without mentioning Buick. It’s been a power-player in the industry for more than a century, and has only improved over the years. Case in point, the Buick Envision just took home the gold in the 2021 J.D. Power Dependability Study.
The study surveys drivers who have owned their vehicles for three years, and then calculates a score based on the number of reported issues per 100 models. That means a lower score indicates higher dependability.
Claiming first place in any contest is impressive, but the 2021 Envision managed to hit a home-run in one of the most competitive segments in the industry — compact SUVs. While claiming the throne, it sped past other models like the Toyota RAV4 and Subaru Forester.
With a score of 100, Buick came in fifth overall, laying waste to popular brands like Ford, INFINITI, Volvo, Jeep®, and Honda. Even better, it crushed the industry average by 21 points — a bar Tesla failed to cross by a full 55.
