General Motors and EVgo are teaming up to add 2,700 new fast-charging stations across the United States. These will not only give more drivers access to stations but may also persuade drivers to buy electric vehicles for the first time.
No small feat, this project will take place during the next five years, gradually expanding the EVgo network. Popular suburban and urban locations, such as retail stores, restaurants, grocery shops and entertainment centers, will gain the charging stations. As such, when driving your EV in Victoria, Texas, you may be able to more easily find a station.
The first stations will arrive at the beginning of 2021 and will be able to charge a maximum of four vehicles at once. They utilize 100 percent renewable energy and can charge your EV in as fast as 15 to 30 minutes. This means that you won’t have to take a break from exploring Port Lavaca for long if your vehicle is due for a charge.
General Motors also has announced plans to introduce at least 12 new EV models by 2023. With the increasing availability of charging stations, more drivers may be interested in purchasing these new vehicles.
