2020 Mazda3 Earns 5-Star Overall Safety Rating from NHTSA

2020 MAZDA3 | Victoria, TX

Thanks to its innovative safety features and advanced technologies, the 2020 Mazda3 received the highest safety ratings from the National Highway Safety Traffic Administration. The 2020 Mazda3 earned the agency’s five star-ratings in front, side, and rollover crash testing as well as a 5-Star Overall safety rating.

“We are proud that the 2020 Mazda3 has earned NHTSA’s top rating for crashworthiness,” said Mazda North America President Jeff Guyton. “Mazda’s i-ACTIVSENSE® advanced safety features on the Mazda3 help provide even more peace of mind for the driver, helping enhance our customer’s driving experience.”

In addition to testing a vehicle’s performance in crash tests, which mimic the country’s most commonly occurring crashes, the NHTSA also recommends additional safety technologies for each vehicle. The 2020 Mazda3 not only earned the agency’s top ratings, but it also offers the agency’s recommended crash-avoidance technologies. Forward collision warning, lane departure warning, crash imminent braking and dynamic brake support systems are standard on the 2020 Mazda3.

The Insurance Institute of Highway Safety also evaluated the safety systems of the 2020 Mazda3 and bestowed its top honor on the well-equipped model. Both the hatchback and sedan body styles earned the Top Safety Pick+ rating from the organization.

5 Tips to Save Time and Energy this Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Dinner with Family

Thanksgiving is a fun and busy time for many Americans. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and stressed by the extra get-togethers and road trips. Here are some Thanksgiving strategies to help you save time, as well as your sanity, this November.

One of the best things to do, according to the Food Network, is to travel intelligently. If you have to drive a long distance with food, it can often spoil or spill. If you’re transporting gravy, for example, consider storing it in a thermos during the trip. It’s also a good idea to invest in an ice cooler to store larger food items like casseroles and the turkey.

Minimize the time you spend on food prep by taking advantage of your local supermarket’s salad bar. These usually have clean, fresh, and chopped food such as onions, beans, peppers, bacon crumbles, and hard-boiled eggs.

If you’re running out of space while you’re cooking the Thanksgiving meal, consider using the kitchen cabinets as your cookbook stand. You’ve got plenty of open space right in front of you: simply tear out cookbook pages and tape them to cabinets so the pages aren’t on the counter.

Another simple trick for getting gravy instead of pure grease is to use your measuring cup as a fat separator. You can pour your drippings into a heatproof container, freeze it, and then skim off the unsavory grease before melting it down again.

Finally, if you need your well-meaning friends and family members to stay out of the kitchen as you’re busy with cooking, make sure to give them small tasks that will also save you time. For example, ask them to take care of drinks (filling water glasses, opening wine bottles, etc.), hang up coats, or help entertain the kids.

Tips for First-Time Car Buyers

First Time Car Shopper

Your first car purchase is a rite of passage, and you’ll be thankful for the purchase every time you get behind the wheel. To help you navigate the exciting car-buying process, here are some tips for first-time car buyers.

  • Set your budget: One of the first steps you should take when thinking about buying a new vehicle is setting a budget. Determining what monthly payment you can afford will help you narrow down which vehicles are in your price range.
  • Make a must-have list: Spend some time thinking about what your transportation needs are and what your must-have features are. Secondly, make a list of things you’d like to have but don’t necessarily need.
  • Do your research: Before you head to the dealership, you should spend some time researching your options. You should narrow your search down to a couple of vehicle segments, or to a particular automaker.
  • Take a test drive: There’s no better way to determine if you like a vehicle than taking it for a test drive. Locate a few reputable dealers nearby and spend an afternoon taking a few vehicles for test drives.
  • Explore your financing options: Before purchasing a new vehicle, spend some time exploring your financing options. Get auto loan quotes from a few different sources, such as from your bank, credit union, and/or insurance company.

Head to the Houston St. Patrick’s Parade

St. Patricks Day Clover

Looking for a way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this March? Every year, Houston puts on one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day parades in the nation, spanning two hours and a 60-year history. This year, there will even be an all-new route for the Houston St. Patrick’s Parade, so make your way to this rain-or-shine event on Saturday, March 16.

Every year, the Houston St. Patrick’s Parade features over 100 entries for audiences to enjoy. It first began in Houston’s “Irish Town” in the 1880s, when people would follow the parade to the pubs at Market Square where they would spend the day eating good food, drinking with friends, and playing games. Despite tough times through the Depression and other financial hardships, the parade has continuously been supported and uplifted by the community for its message of bringing everyone together to “be Irish for the day.”

So mark your calendar to come to the Houston St. Patrick’s Parade at noon on March 16th. Pat Duane is the Grand Marshal for 2019, and members of the local community can feel free to sign up to be in the parade every year. This is truly an experience about bringing everyone together for St. Patrick’s Day weekend, and we at Atzenhoffer hope to see you there. Share your experiences with us, and stop in to Experience the Atzenhoffer Difference!
